I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of great dining options while in Lilongwe, Malawi, and Ama Khofi was no exception. A Parisian-style layout and international menu make it the perfect choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff here is incredible, full of smiling faces and always happy to offer suggestions on what to try. I was missing home when I stopped in so I opted for a burger and salad, both delightful.

My friend ordered a beef panini, which he was nice enough to let me taste and it did not disappoint either. We also had some coffee while here and my Frappuccino was one of the tastiest I’d had in a long time. They hit it out of the park with everything they put on our table. The true draw of the restaurant is the garden setting from which they pull their vegetables.

The entire place is picturesque and I imagine a romantic spot for a first date. Trying to eat here on a rainy day would be a chore but the food might just make it worth the hassle. Overall, I’d give it five out of five stars thanks to great food, affordable prices and a wonderful staff and setting. Definitely give it a try if you’re in town.
